L. EDWARD HUMPHREY
Is an Associate in the Scottsdale office. Mr. Humphrey is a bankruptcy attorney and litigator that represents debtors and creditors in both individual and complex corporate Chapter 11 reorganizations, loan workouts, and preference and fraudulent transfer litigation. He also has experience litigating a wide range of complex commercial, fiduciary duty, personal guarantee and real estate disputes, and has argued multiple bankruptcy and commercial litigation appeals.

- Representation of creditor in Chapter 11 reorganization, ultimately proposing and confirming Chapter 11 liquidation plan.
- Representation of entities defending preference and fraudulent transfer actions.
- Representation of both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy nondischargeability actions.
- Representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in bankruptcy related adversary proceeding litigation and related appellate matters. See Overstreet v. Joint Facilities Management, LLC, Case No. A-11-CA-298-SS (W.D. Tex. 2011) (affirming bankruptcy court’s dismissal of adversary proceeding) (briefed and argued).
- Representation of lender in successful defense on appeal of bankruptcy court cash collateral order. See Wright v. Washington Federal Savings (In re Wright), 2011 WL 3298914 (BAP 9th Cir. 2011) (affirming bankruptcy court cash collateral ruling) (briefed and argued).
- Representation of personal guarantors in workout negotiations, litigation, and bankruptcy related matters.
- Representation of landowners in real property related administrative, litigation, and appellate matters.
- Participation in major Chapter 11 reorganizations, including the bankruptcy cases of a professional sports franchise, a major national real estate development company, and a company with a $1 billion loan portfolio.
